Information Security

The Diocese of Grand Rapids is committed building and maintaining an effective information security program throughout its jurisdiction in West Michigan.  The program will assist in securing the business continuity of the Diocese of Grand Rapids and to minimize the risk of damage by preventing security breaches and reducing their potential impact. More specifically, the ISMP will assist in protecting the organization’s informational assets against all internal, external, deliberate or accidental threats.

The Diocese of Grand Rapids takes the approach that Security Training is necessary for all personnel within a diocesan entity to minimize the risk of a data breach.  Therefore the Diocese of Grand Rapids is committed to provide continuous training for staff within the various units throughout their jurisdiction.

The Diocese of Grand Rapids is also incorporating guidelines for best cyber security practices and resources for entities who are required to meet specific compliance such as FERPA, PCI and HIPPA.  Additional information may be found on DOGR Connect within the Parish Resource Library under Policies and Procedures.

For assistance with creating and maintaining an Information Security Program at your location and for Security Awareness Training for your staff, please contact Alec Saturley, Director of Information Services.
