Prayer for Faithful Citizenship
Loving Father, as the citizens of our state
and nation prepare to make decisions about candidates and
issues, inspire them with your heavenly wisdom that they may
act in accord with well-formed consciences, choosing to vote
for who and what upholds the dignity of human life and the
welfare of the common good.
Give us good leaders, Lord, and help us all
to be good citizens and good Christians, respectful and honest,
committed and generous, living in accord with the Gospel of
your son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and
the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
