Goals

In harmony with the goal of the National Tekakwitha Conference, the Native American Ministry in the Diocese of Grand Rapids endeavors to:

  • Empower Native American Catholics to live in harmony with their Catholic and native spirituality.
  • Inspire prayer for the canonization of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, to share the story of her life, and to follow her example of a life lived in Christ.
  • Establish faith-sharing Kateri Circles that foster a spirituality which reaches out to others.
  • Contribute to on-going communication and involvement of the Native American Catholic Ministry with the agencies, organizations, and programs serving Indian people.
