Racism, poverty are focus of Life & Dignity Symposium June 22

On Thursday, June 22, the diocesan office of pastoral services will host a two-session Human Life & Dignity Symposium at Cathedral Square Center in Grand Rapids. Attend the morning or afternoon session, or come for the day! The event also will be livestreamed at St. Philip Neri Parish in Reed City. 

Simultaneous translation into Spanish will be provided.

The symposium is open to all and free of charge. Morning hospitality and lunch will be provided (monetary donations accepted).

Racism: Restructuring minds, hearts, society
Racismo: Reestructuración de la mente, el corazón y la sociedad
Morning session presenters include Breannah Alexander of Partners for a Racism-Free Community and Ron Landfair, director of multicultural ministries for the Diocese of Lansing.  

Afternoon Session

Poverty: Love demands action
Pobreza: El amor exige acción
The afternoon session presenters will be Edith Avila Olea of the Diocese of Joliet and Father Ron Schneider, pastor of St. Ann-St. Ignatius Parish.
Panel presentations with Q&A will wrap up each session.
