The Diocese of Grand Rapids is committed to implementing effective, long-term enrollment growth planning that will enhance mission and Catholic identity, programmatic excellence, affordability and accessibility in our schools. This plan is entitled Catholic Schools: Bridging Faith and Future.
This winter, the planning process entered Round Three, its final phase which continues through the spring. Round One involved community forums in every part of the diocese in the winter and spring of 2016; we presented data about our Catholic schools and gathered public input about the schools' future. Over the summer of 2016, our steering committee turned that data and input into a draft strategic plan. During Round Two in the fall of 2016, we presented the draft plan at more community forums, taking feedback to ensure the plan isn't missing anything. In Round Three, we're completing the final plan and sharing it with diocesan decision makers, in order to begin planning for implementation.
